Apartheid Israel must be treated as the pariah of the World

We salute the Speaker of Kuwait’s National Assembly for his courage

Mvezo Komkhulu, 19th October 2018:

We salute the Speaker of Kuwait’s National Assembly Mr Marzouq Al-Ghanim for his courage to tell the Israeli delegation to leave the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference which is being held in Russia. Apartheid Israel continues to act with impugnity in perpetrating acts of barbaric cruelty against helpless children, the elderly, women and other innocent civilians, the continued rapid expansion of illegal settlements on Palestinian land in violation of International law, treating Palestinians as second class citizens in the land of their birth, refusing right of return of 6 million refugees in the Palestinian diaspora, and relentlessly pursuing its war of occupation and state terrorism.

Marzouq Al-Ghanim demonstrated the leadership we require from the Arab world and the international solidarity movement to isolate Israel just as we isolated Apartheid South Africa.

I call on all the delegates at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to stand in solidarity with him and adopt a resolution condemning Apartheid Israel’s continued violation of International law, an end to the illegal occupation, the right to self-determination and a viable an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital. Such a resolution will send a clear message to the people of the world that we are united and that we are serious about what President Nelson Rolihlala Mandela called the ‘greatest moral issue of our time.’

We call on the nations of the world through the esteemed forum of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) Conference to honour the legacy of Madiba who was unflinching and unwavering in his support for the struggle of the Palestinian people.

We salute Marzouq Al Ghannim because his actions reflect the resolute stand the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa took earlier this year when it told an Apartheid Israel Parliamentary delegation that they were not welcomed.

The global community of freedom loving people were instrumental through their acts of international solidarity in the cancellation of the First Israel Africa Summit in Togo. We must pursue this cause of collective action and close down Israel’s attempts to co-opt us in supporting the gross violation of human rights of the Palestinian people, expose Israel’s relentless pursuit of state terror and it’s total defiance of international law.

Marzouq Al Ghanim is a hero and an courageous example in a morally blind world. We salute you. The Palestinian struggle needs more voices like yours. Let our voices be heard. Let our voices echo the cries of the Palestinian children. Let our voices echo the anguish of Palestinian mothers as they bury another victim of Israeli brutality. Let our voices echo the longing of millions of Palestinian refugees to return home. Our voices will not be silenced until Palestine is free.

Free free free Palestine!!!
